One of the coolest parts of my job at ReferralCandy is probably how exposed I am to new products and companies.Ever since I joined the company in 2016, there hasn’t been a single week in which I haven’t discovered a cool new product. While some of the products have been around for quite some time, they are still undeniably some of the more interesting products that I’ve come across. And I thought it’d be interesting to share them.If you have any birthdays coming up, or you need some inspiration for some last-minute Christmas shopping, this might serve as a useful guide.
1. Atmoph Windows
By far the coolest product I have seen in a long time!During quarantine last year, I realized that I could no longer live without a TV in my apartment and I got myself a Samsung The Frame TV. What makes the TV special is that when you’re not actually watching it, the TV turns itself into a frame where you can display photos or showcase pieces of art.To make it easier to visualize, it basically transforms into a beautiful picture hanging from my wall instead of an ugly black rectangle in the middle of my living room.Atmoph took this concept to the next level. They created a smart display in the shape of a window, which allows you to turn a windowless room into a gateway to places like Paris, Hawaii, or Egypt.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el6QwKB9OOQ[/embed]To make things even cooler, Atmoph also launched a Star Wars-dedicated collection that allows you to have front-row seats to the Death Star. If your significant other is a Star Wars fan you might have just found the perfect gift for them.Pst! They also have a referral program available!
2. Ororo's Heated Apparel
Now, this is something that I’ve wondered about for a while. In the cooler countries, everywhere we go during the winter months has heating: Our apartments, cars, restaurants, malls… we have heated blankets and even self-heating coffee mugs. This got me wondering, but what about clothes?Well, the folks over at Ororo must have had the same thought process because they’ve come up with one of the coolest products I’ve seen in a while: Heated winter wear.
Ororo’s garments include several carbon fiber heating pads that keep you warm and comfy without actually having to layer yourself with bulky coats and multiple thermal wears.Too bad we’re based in Singapore where the average temperature averages 27ºC (80 ºF) and we actually have to run away from the heat (sidenote is anyone making clothes with cooling pads instead?).P.S. Ororo uses ReferralCandy for its referral program.
3. Kiss of Wine
It’s Christmas and almost everyone is enjoying the festive season with a nice bottle of wine. I know I am.When was the last time you opened a wine bottle at home only to realize that it has gone bad from the last time you opened it? I bet you had to dump it down the drain before opening a brand new one. We’re all guilty of this. In fact, a staggering 624 million wine bottles land in the sink every year! That’s because in the majority of cases, whenever we open a wine bottle we’re not committing to finishing it before it goes bad.And that’s okay! Nobody wants to trade a fun night out (or in) for a headache the next morning. That’s why Kiss of Wine decided that wine needed a brand new look – why not buy cans instead of 750ml bottles?Kiss of Wine also decided to partner with small winemakers to help them expand their geographical reach. The cans come in boxes with one or more flavors that can be adapted to multiple flavors and preferences: Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache, etc. Who doesn’t appreciate a wide variety of flavors? One can equals to a regular glass of wine and three cans equal to one bottle. Now you’ll know exactly how much you’re drinking and have more reasons to say cheers!
4. Branch Basics
Branch Basics is currently fighting their own David vs. Goliath-type of a battle against the massive corporations in the cleaning supplies industry, and that’s the main reason why I admire them. The company sells safe cleaning supplies made out of plant-based ingredients in a sustainable way.Do you know what are the two main ingredients we pay for every time we buy regular cleaning products? Plastic and water: Plastic because we’re paying for the (non-recyclable) packaging; and water, because at the end of the day, these cleaning supplies are concentrated formulas diluted in water.
Branch Basics’ mission is to end this unsustainable system. Instead, they offer customers an initial kit with multiple reusable bottles and sell their concentrates that can be diluted with water from the tap.No more non-recyclable plastic bottles that’ll end up in a landfill somewhere (or worse, in the ocean), and no more harmful, unsafe products laying around the house.Branch Basics’ customers are so happy to be part of their community that they’re shouting from the rooftops! Well not literally, but they’re actively using Branch Basics’ referral program to spread the word.
5. Loop Earplugs
Our world is getting noisier by the minute. Some experts even say that we’ve reached the end of silence as we know it.Traffic, airplanes, construction noise… loud noises are everywhere around us. Cities like Paris are even using sound sensors to fine vehicles causing noise pollution. That’s why a product like Loop Earplugs makes so much sense these days. Loop designs earplugs that help you continue enjoying activities you love (whether it’s going to concerts, playing a loud instrument, or just walking down a noisy street) at your desired volume. If you’re looking for a product that helps you to concentrate better by filtering some of the environmental noise around you, these earplugs are a perfect fit.
You can even take a test designed to help you decide which model of Loop you need based on your intended use:
Loop’s earplugs have astonishingly good reviews from thousands of customers, which is the reason why lots of them keep referring Loop to their friends and family!
6. Smyle
Learning about products like Branch Basics and Smyle makes me realize just how much single-use plastic goes into my trash can every week.Whenever I think about my single-plastic consumption the first thing that comes to mind is grocery bags followed by food containers. But I don’t think I’ve ever thought about the number of toothpaste tubes that I use throughout the year.Smyle’s mission is to put an end to the horrific 1.5 billion plastic toothpaste tubes that end up in our landfills and oceans every year.Smyle has designed a toothpaste that comes in a mint form, delivered in a recyclable glass bottle. All you need to do is to crush the mint with your teeth and then brush with a wet toothbrush as you’d do with regular toothpaste. And the best part? Yep, you guessed it! They also use ReferralCandy to run their referral program! Referred friends get 20% off their first purchase and advocates get 5€ in cash.
It’s never too late to start sustainable practices that can make an impact on our environment.
